The world's largest reserves of deuterium, or heavy water, are to be found in the Philippine trench. I had no idea what deuterium was until a couple of days ago, but thanks to an article in the Cebu Freeman I now have some notion. All our worries are over.
"Deuterium is used in the production of (hydrogen) Li-Hy Fuel now used in Canada, America, Germany and some parts of Sweden to provide fuel for cars, trucks, jet planes, etc. including solid hydrogen for the spacecraft Challenger and Columbia. Deuterium can replace gasoline, LPG, LNG, Avgas, etc. in powering all types of internal combustion engines. It does not emit pollutants or any harmful carbon monoxide and does not cause any environmental problems because it is in a member of the water family. Emissions are nothing but water vapor or steam. Deuterium as hydrogen fuel can be used for cooking, lighting, heating, and as heavy water fuel for reactors in electric power generation."And where is it?
"[It] is obtained from the deep trenches of the world and the world’s largest deposit of deuterium is in the Philippines - a big deposit of 868 miles long, 52 miles at widest point, and 3 miles at deepest point, replenished by nature 24 hours a day after deuterium travels more than 12,000 kilometers from Central America to the Philippines through the span of the Pacific Ocean when planet earth turns on its axis from west to east in unending perpetual motion."Wouldn't it be wonderful if, after all the gloomy forecasts, "this untapped source of energy were to make the Philippines one of the richest countries of the world"?
Sadly, the deuterium dream has been kicking around for a while (there was even a satirical play called "Deuterium" based on what happened when the Philippines became the richest country in the world). The play won a Palanca Award in 1990, but in the intervening years the Philippines has made little progress up the prosperity ladder. Mind you, oil has never been $50 a barrel before…

Like with everything in the Philippines, they all seem to think God will come to their rescue. But guess what, he usually doesn't and the country will still remain the most poorest and corrupt in the Asian region. Which is a shame since filipinos are the most friendly people you will ever likely to meet but will forever be betrayed by the corrupt system and greed of the few.
Yes, something can be done with Deuterium, like something can be done with all the looted gold and treasures still locked up in the caves - but nothing will be done since greed and corruption means there's no level of trust between anyone remotely filipino.

I was in Saudi when a french diplomat told me "why are you working abroad when you have the vast resources.."
A german ambassador said, "I wonder why your people understand asset management when its there for the digging and managing it properly..."
"man dont you know you are bloody rich?"
Now after 2 decades I understand that they are referring to this deuterium gas. After personally hearing it from the top Marcos consultant himself "We saw this glass like mountain which is an offshoot of the mineral and we took a piece and sent it to Belgium for testing indeed it was Deuterium Unlimited amaounts! Soon the project was trashed..."
Email me and I tell you the real REASON.
Dont you get it? We can build aircraft's, but why dont you think will they let us do it?
THINK!

reading the wikipedia about deuterium and the geografic location of the philippines and reading lot of informations also of thefreeman newspaper, i may say the existence of deuterium in philippine trench and mariannas is true. the only problem is that no country wants to invest coz philippines would become the richest nation in the world. regarding the deuterium delirium as of the scientest in UP quoting it impossible to dig, it is impossible for him as a single person and he is also limited in his field of knowledge. If he believes the law of cooperation (look what happens to the 4wheel car if one wheel don’t function). so i am hopefull that this huge richness of the philippines would be discover. TRULY THE PHILIPPINES IS THE “CHOSEN LAND” (LUPANG HINIRANG) mabuhay philippines!

urban legend is what we speak unless we scoop a pint of deuterium from the
abyss of philippine deep. anyone interested out there?

Deuterium is possible due to the very high pressure of the deep sea. The pressure that made deuterium is the same pressure that have made it impossible to collect. The only way to collect it is drill in the area with tolerable pressure through the sand down to a level deep enough that the pipe could withstand then bend the pipe horizontally until it reaches the deuterium location then change the the direction of the pipe going up where the deposit is located.
This is a simple theory that anybody with engineering background could think of this deuterium drilling technical problem. But if the reason why we can't harvest this natural treasure is political or greed, then, we can't do anything about it. Ohhh, there's still one way, if you look at the museum in Washington DC, you would see the philippines as one of the states in the USA, maybe they could help....

I think it's more on politics than any other reason why we can't extract deuterium from our promised land - philippines my philippines
wants evidence? see this link:

politicians would not even discuss the issue on this.
why bother if you reap the fruits for being silent.
Posted by: tesla | May 20, 2007 at 04:40 PM
The reason why deuterium is not being developed is probably because it could adversely affect the world economy, where said fuel being very cheap,it could result in the very sudden collapse of stock prices.

Common people of the the phil. you cant even manage yourselves, how can you managed deuterium? stick with gma and live miserly.

If we are really very serious toexplore deuterium in the Philippines, why should we just use our own money coming from our debt-payable money schedule for payment. We can request the creditors to wait for 5 to 8 years for our debt payment schedule and let us explore deuterium. Once we have it we canpay our indebtedness very easily and ahead of schedule. Anyway we are paying the interests on it.
The government should act on this and not on so many political issues. We can be the richest country in the world once we have it in production and utilized by the world.

deuterium in philippine deep is real.the rich countries right now is perfecting the utilization and safety handling of hydrogen fuel thru research studies funded with billon dollars.the US goverment forcast hydrogen economy by 2020 or earlier base on completion of thier research.present source of available hydrogen fuel right now is scarce and cant support hydrogen economy. i do believed at the right time based on thier time plan they will tap hydrogen reserves on earth. and the biggest is here in philippine deep.what i know is theres already talks happen before in the middle 80!s between the govt and representative of US, japan and saudi investors but i dont know the details.

who says nobody's interested in this, give me a few years or decades. i not only intend to make myself one of the richest in the world but also the philippines as well. let us continue the fight to restore the faith and trust of the filipino people in themselves...
who's with me?
Posted by: Ivan Earnhart | March 09, 2008 at 08:07 AM
why let the americans take this opportunity?
why let them develope OUR raw potential?
why is it that the foreigners have more faith in us than we do ourselves?
how long shall we continue to let ourselves be bypassed as we continue to look up to the "genius" of the foreigners that only capitalize in our capabilities?
who shall join me in my fight to turn this tide around?

There is no news about it since the first noise came out from the media. I'm afraid few people are now reaping wealth out of it ... taking it away from the Filipino people. With the present regime (GMA) we have, there is no surprise if we found out one morning that it is being mined and contracts changed hands already.

I firmly believe that the right/best thing a Philippine government must focus right now in relation to this source of energy is to educate the people. They might not yet ready to receive this God's gift. If this will not be handled carefully it might likewise be a cause of war.
I do hope that the government officials have to strengthen their loyalty to the country. We, Filipinos, must work hand in hand to build a better nation. Discipline is the most important way of life we gonna practice. We must praise God for giving us this kind of GEM in our fatherland (or fatherwater....hehehe).
On the other hand, I encourage my fellow citizen especially Filipino inventors to invent now machines that are suitable for this kind of fuel. Without doing so, this HOPE remains a cigarette....este nothing. Good luck to us all. God bless Philippines!

deuterium is not dangerous guys infact it can help the environment, this is because of the carbon dioxide which is friendly to the earth....

The middle east is running out of fuel. Even THEY have oil price increase! But the truth is, if the philippines start digging for this, they would have to go to war for taking away the name of the middle east as the petrolium source of the world. in time, they will accept this and this would be the rise of a third world country. slowly but surely, this is going to happen!
