64 years? No problem pare!
It is encouraging that the Sandiganbayan (corruption court) is starting to really clamp down on corruption, though last Friday’s sentencing of a 71-year-old former mayor to 64 years' imprisonment for employing his cousins seems, er, a tiny bit disproportionate.
The Sandiganbayan is of course the same court that is trying former President Estrada on plunder charges. So no doubt we can expect the same severity in Estrada’s case should he be found guilty.
