On the subject of genetic codes, I understand that us humans share 90% of our DNA with apes. That may sound amazing but I don't think it amounts to much as apparently we also share 50% genetic coding with a banana. That doesn't make us half bananas. Or does it?


Speaking as someone who lives in a banana republic, that genetic similarity doesn't suprise me too much. Looking at the Philippine Congress and the British House of Commons I'm surprised the banana DNA count is not higher actually.
